MDL4 gene fuel filter swap

Hello Everyone, I finally gave up on the mechanical transfer pump, II just cant get it to stop leaking. I decided to go with an electric seachoice 4-7 psi fuel pump. While changing it I decided maybe it would be worth changing out the rectangle fuel filter for a regular spin on. Any reason why not to do this? thanks , Paul

If you can do it practically /100% reliable  and it makes maintenance easier, then go for it.  Use something less that 10 Mic if this is a “last chance” fuel filter.
