I’ve made a habit of freshwater flushing the engine @ the dock after each use. I don’t use a bucket at the dock, just a quick disconnect on the freshwater hose and hose under the washrail.
Boat is hauled for the season. First video is the 6th of five gallon buckets of freshwater flush thru the Cummins. Second video is seven gallons of non-tox for winterization. Note how quickly five gallons of liquid pumps through the engine @ idle. The water hose is on full blast in the bucket.
The beeping of the raw water alarm when the bucket empties is a good example of having one on the engine. The bucket of non-tox collected out the exhaust will be used for winterizing the washdown pump, toilet and the bilge.
