After getting sticker shock for the replacement of one of these I thought there might be a way to repair it. I noticed a slight drip of water under the flange and when I removed the elbow I saw small drops of rusty water on the inside where it looks like the flange fits into the elbow. Can the flange be removed and replaced is it worth the effort? Its a 6bta cpl953.
    Thanks

    Mike,

This is a Cummins factory 5″ wet elbow.. Is the seawater hose inlet 1.25″ or 1.5″?.. I cannot tell that from the pic..

Next–you have that on a 31 Bertram, correct??..

So now, go down to the boat and sent me a good pics of INSIDE the turbo outlet–Look at the attached to see what I want to SEE..

After I see this, then i’ll help you about your issue you asked about..

Need to see how the water flows when mounted. Any pics of the engine bays?

Just a stock cummins elbow that leaks in the lower flange section inside and out. It sits on the motor with the exhaust straight down (31 Bertram).

How about standing back a few feet and sending some good pics of the entire exhaust mixer, etc.. I have zero clue that what I’m “really” looking at..
