    Hello,
    I’ve read all the great info on here regarding SmartCraft but just need a short answer. I found a used Vessel View 1.5 unit and would like to use it to replace the old Diesel View. Is this as simple as plug and play? Connectors on the back look the same. I realize the mounting hole would need to be enlarged a bit. Just wondering about the harnesses.

    Tony,

    I think I may be at a dead end.

    I have installed a used VesselView 1.5, 84-8M0054863 harness, 4993480 adapter harness and an ignition harness to connect port and stb. junction boxes.Ā  However, I also have the old SIM revision, as defined in SBMAR’s “cummins-dieselview-display-upgrades” post.

    Do I understand right, that no matter what I do, the old SIM revision will not work with anything newer that the Diesel View unit that came with my boat?Ā  Will it also not work with Vessel View Mobile?

    Pics of both SIMs attached.

    The old DieselView unit displayed everything correctly.Ā  I have tried another VV 1.5 that displayed most data correctly, but was unstable for items mentioned above (have videos).Ā  I also purchased the adaptor harness you mention (Cummins 4993480) but it does not make a difference.

    Another option is to buy a gateway and display engine data on my Raymarine MFD, but was told that I would have the same problems.

    Post a clear picture of the ECM side of your engine soĀ  I can ID what electronic version your have (like the one attached)Ā

    upgrade issues

    I purchased a used VesselView 1.5 with harness, but no part number on harness.

    Most data is correct, but no boost, load, gear temp, gear press…

    Can you tell me what the wiring should be as far as wire colors?Ā  I’ll include pics of mine.
