    Hello if anyone can help will be much appreciated took one of my àlternators for reconditioning and the electrician changed the brush holder regulator and bearings since then I am having problems with the rev counter if I switch the other engine off it works ok but with the other engine on I have the rev counter playing around can it be that the old regulator had a diode thanks

    Tony just found the problem it was the fireboy module interconnecting both ignition circuits

    Tony thats what i was inking that something is interconnected when looking into it its the grounds are but had a chance and changed the trio diode today and all is fine Thanks Karl

    I just redid this….. Your wiring connections seem to be correct

    #1 is OK, maybe..

    #3 is the sensing lead and needs to run the the output terminal of the alternator or another source you want to sense

    #2——-Is the tach signal

    Not sure what you have interconnected to the “other engine”, but you can only have on alternator that drives the tach –I.E., only use ONE of the phase tap terminals

    no1 is connected to ignition
    no2 is connected to rpm signal
    no3 is connected to battery bank

    Look at the attached picture..

    Tell me exactly want leads #1, #2, and # 3 are connected to, and what you “think” they are supposed to accomplish..
