Recently had two Cummins long blocks installed in my 46 Maxum. Also had block heaters installed but did not change out the original intake air heater circuits. Shortly after starting to use the boat I began having voltage discharge issues. It was traced to one air heater ECM’s not working properly. Purchased two complete heater circuits from you a short time ago, because when I sell it I wanted the engines to be complete. I personally do not intend to use them unless the block heaters are not usable. Have two questions. Does removing the fuses completely disable the system or should the heater wires be disconnected? When the fuses are removed the green dash lights stay on even after the engine has started and is running, is this normal? Thanks

    Russ,

If the “factory heater circuitry is functioning properly and has not been modified, then pulling the small fuse will disable the heater grids regardless of a “light” that I am not familiar with… The fuse controls a solenoid coils that are on the ECM plate–No fuse = no solenoid pull-in= no current to the heater grids ( big wires) ..
