Have a pair of 6CTA 480 hp in a 2002 Fleming. Changed oil and serviced on Monday (6/10). After warm up noticed that the air preheat unit on port engine smoking. Shut down, turned off battery. Made repairs using existing air heater with heat unit guts removed, new gaskets and did not hook up power. Also removed power to starboard. Found that both are 12v and the engines are 24v. Will replace at a later date.
Noticed during repairs that oil pressure read 9 lbs on port gauge. After repairs, started and have fault code 143, FMI=1 PID=100
Oil pressure gauges reads 8 to 10 lbs with key on, not running. Starboard reads 0. Manual gauge installed and have 50+ lbs oil pressure when running. Oil pressure gauge does not change when running as well.
Swapped oil sender and ECM between engines – still have fault on Port. Swapped cables at gauges on pilot house and flybridge – fault goes with wiring.
Boat has Common Ground engine monitors.
Not sure whatās wrong or how to diag. Any assistance appreciated.
