Can someone tell me the difference if any between Cummins CPL 1613 and CPL 1928. Would these engines have the same specs as regards standard cylinder bore? I am asking this question as my engines originally 6BTA 5.9 M2 250 Hp where up-rated to 315 Hp by Cummins. Basically Cummins just changed the injectors and re-calibrated the pumps and I was told that

“Once rebuilt, these engines will carry CPL 1928 which is a 315 hp rating for the mid 90’s generation of engine”.

With this statement I am understanding that basically the block and all other parts are identical for the 250Hp and the 315 Hp. Is this correct?

The engines share the exact same Cummins long block–Differences are possibly injectors and the Nippon EP9 pump calibration.
