My boat is a Bayliner 3988 running 330 6BTA’s. Temp sensors are OEM, original to the boat and in located next to the Thermostat. I purchased the relocation adapters from SBAR to move the sensors to the top of the exhaust manifold. https://www.sbmar.com/product/smx-temperature-alarm-switch-adapter/ However my boat uses coolant to heat hot water tank while underway so I have lines running off port from top of exhaust manifold that attach to my hot water heater. Current set up is basically the same adapters I just purchased. I have a small line, 1/2 inch NPT that runs to the coolant tank and a 3/4 NPT connection that connects the hot water supply line for the hot water heater. Ultimately I would like to maintain the capability to heat water while underway but it is not a game stopper if I have to plug these lines.
Looking for advice on how to address this issue.
Possible Courses of action:
Disconnect the coolant feed to the hot water heater.Route coolant to hot water heater from the 3/4 NPT port that currently houses the temp sensor near the T-stat
Or maybe you have another suggestion? Sorry I tried to post some pics but my tech abilities failed me.
Thanks in advance.
Dave
