    Hello I have 6bt5.9m in my boat and I am just wondering what the pipe I have circled in red is for? cheers Ian Pipe

    Thanks for your reply, Could I remove the pipe and replace it with hoses to the water heater? Red to the in side of the heater and Blue to out return side of the heater? cheers Ian

    Yes you can use that fitting for piping a heater.Ā  There is also “possibly” a fitting just below that area on the outside of the exhaust manifold that may have a threaded “plug” in it (1/2NPT I think) that you can use as well and then you would need to pipe it to the inlet elbow that should have a threaded plug as well.

    Just remember that you will have an “IN” and an “OUT” that needs to be plumbed and one side should be plumbed on the hi pressure side (like off the head or exhaust manifold) and the other to the lower pressure side (towards the inlet elbow).
