Hello, I have a pair of 210hp 6BT`s and really enjoy cruising at low speed, I often cruise at around 1400 rpm @ 7-8 knots, kicking back enjoying the scenery (and a cold beer) does it do the engines any harm to cruise at such low RPM for hours on end? cheers Ian

Thanks for the reply Rob, yes both engines come up to temp and stay at temp right through the whole rev range, thanks again, and the next cold one will be a “cheers” to you

    Low Speed Running a 6BT

Your 6BT’s (and your wallet) will enjoy that type of cruising as much (or more) than you do, have another cold one and keep motoring. Here’s an article on low speed running… She’s coming up to and staying at thermostat temperature, right?
