I currently have an aftermarket 195 degree temp alarm sender, a VDO temp alarm 205 degree sender? and gauge sender fitted to the cylinder heads of my engines.

I’ve found an aftermarket NMEA 2000 probe that can be plugged into my Simrad MFD’S and have further alarms (visual and audio) and another temp gauge on the MFD displays.

Is there an alternative option to fit another temp sender probe in a 4BTA? Tony mentioned another option for a sender in a 4BT is in the turbo in another thread, but looking at mine on the weekend I couldn’t see a location to fit another sender.

Tony said (with regard to a 4BT)

ā€˜ā€™Be sure you have a redundant 195F coolant alarm switchā€”Put it on the turbo where your current sender is along with a loud warning deviceā€™ā€™

    Thanks

Remove one of the large HEX plugs in the coolant part of turbo housing and drill & tap to fit your probe.
