Cummins 6BT Stalled and wouldn't restart when hot

July 16, 2019 at 10:30 am I purchased a 1979 Trojan F26 that was fitted with an older Cummins 6BT. After many blown trailer tires (trailer is in bad shape) and a failed launch attempt (prop stuff box was leaking), I finally got it in the water to place her in a slip. Motor was pumping good seawater, was a little slow to start cold, but it fired up. After leaving the dock and getting her up to 2000 RPMS there was some smoke coming from the exhaust manifold area (hard to …

June 27, 2019 at 9:00 am Hello everyone!, I just purchased a 1979 Trojan F26 that’s been modified as well as fitted with a 6BT Cummins attached to a Velvet drive transmission. It does run and seems to check out but does not have an hour meter. My question is regarding coolant. It seems this motor doesn’t have a large coolant tank like most I see. If I open the cap on top of the wet exhaust housing there is indeed coolant in there (green colored) as well as…
