    Thanks Tony
That was very useful. I cannot say whether the tech really check the pressure as I was not on board. The error code was removed and did not appear again. The engine started and behaved on idle as it should. However the problem is when we ask for power. This I suppose coincides with what you have said. If it was the lift pump should the error code have re appeared? Is the lift pump in the tank or just after the shutoff valve?

As regard to testing the pressure following your pictures. What is the exact procedure? What should I be wary off? Air getting in. Things like that.
    Thanks.

Sorry I did not mean the engine is 6 Months old. I meant the fuel. The engine is from 2009

We had an error message for low fuel pressure. Sorry cannot remember the number. We had Cummins tech run a diagnosis and they thought the pressure of fuel pump was too low and same for injection pump. So they recommended to change both.

I ll take some pictures next time I am there.

Thanks. I had my suspicions about the turbo but I could not understand why it would run well out of gear. I will check hoses. Many thanks

Thank for reply. My serial number 46897727

The sensor seems connected and in the right place but it has been chipped when the serpentine belt broke. My gut feeling is that the damage sensor is the source of the problem but my mechanic says no. Not sure what to believe.

I think I am going to change it anyway. Hope I can I can find it in France. Do you know the part number?

I am trying to source an equivalent here in France
What are the characteristics of this bearing. I assume High temperature. Double row. Water proof??

How funny cuttyhunk!! Made me laugh. I think I can cope with changing a bearing. Just wanted to make sure that this was possible. You would not happen to know the type of bearing or even have the ref. Engine serial numbers on pics.
If you can help. That would be great

To carry on the saga with dodgy mechanic. He came today to change belt. He removed sea water pump belt by removing the water pump. pulley. I expressed my surprise and mentioned about the loose screws on the other pulley. He said straight away that that was the reason for the belt getting damage. Anyway I don t think I am getting anywhere with him.

The more worrying thing is the the bearing on the pulley where the 2 belts are is gone. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the bearing or do I have to order the whole thing. Put photos on.

    Thanks for help

    Hi

I believe there is a tool to remove and put the water pomp belt back on. What does it look like? Can I do that without it?

    Hi

Thanks for answering. I’ll post the details next time I go to the boat.

28 Cuttyhunk, my feeling exactly. He is going to replace the belt and this time I’ll be there. See what he does!!!

Could you tell me how much it the serpentine belt and the also the stretchy on?

It is a 2009 model with the flat stretchy belt
