Replacing the Medusa harness worked perfectly for me. I also went as far as using a toothbrush/corrosion X combo on all of the connection pins that attach from the engine to the Medusa.

I never changed the coolant sensors but what I did instead was unplug both coolant sensors from the engines and connected Tonys terminating resistor. https://www.sbmar.com/product/cummins-marine-smartcraft-low-coolant-circuit-resistor/

    Ive been trouble free since.

I was able to get the engine jacked up and successfully replaced a mount last weekend.

I am now considering biting the bullet and doing a few more mount replacements.

Can I mix and match mounts on the same engine? Because of the way I ordered parts from Seaboard I have 2 of the Barry mounts now and would likely pick up a few of the SMX mounts.

If so, my port engine would have 2 new Barry mounts on the front and the 2 new SMX on the rear. Is that okay?

    Thanks

Thanks Rob. Did my best to grab pictures of the remaining mounts. They seem to range from as bad to slightly better than the condition of the 1st mount.

Thanks Tony – I found the issue. Your coolant sensor leak post details the exact symptoms I found.

I disconnected the coolant level sensor and found coolant inside of it. I then disconnected the throttle pot connector on the wiring harness and also found coolant inside of it (pic attached).

Do I need to replace only the medusa connector at this point? or entire on-engine harness?

    Engine specifics:
    QSB 5.9 355 w/ ZF 80-1A
    Diesel View: 4932604
    SIM module: 4929301
controls: teleflex CH5660, teleflex morse electronic throttle control #311821

Thanks Tony – I figured out the problem. Your post on the coolant sensor leak describes exactly my issue.

I disconnected my coolant level sensor and I found coolant inside it. Then I disconnected the throttle connector on the wiring harness and again had coolant inside the connector (pic attached).

Do I need to replace the medusa harness only? or full on-engine harness?

Mechanicals but they connect to an electronic throttle control (teleflexmorse branded)
