      July 18, 2020 at 2:10 pm Hi folks, looking for some thoughts/suggestions how best to deal with a Cummins Onan generator electrolysis/zinc problem on my 36’ tug style trawler, built in 2002. Here is the situation. I’m the 3rd owner of the boat, and the boat was built with a 2002 Onan 5kw generator, model MDKAU. The generator engine is a Kubota Z402 diesel.       March 6, 2018 at 12:30 pm Hi Rob, took a close look at the Amsoil kit that I have, and have a plan now about how to connect its “bypass oil filter” kit to my 6BTA, The general “theory” of a bypass oil filter – at least Amsoil’s – is to constantly filter a very small amount of the oil slowly through a “fine” oil filter such that, over time, all the oil eventually goes through the bypass oil filter, and the larger particles that get through the regular oil fil…
