Is there a preferred location to install a wolverine heater pad on a B series, Meaning the rear or the front of the pan or does it not really matter?

As to the original question, as long as it’s on the bottom of the pan on a completely flat area that is all that matters, remember its for long continuous use so the entire pan gets heater and radiates upward..

Scroll down on the below page. Installation requires a coarsely scratched, clean and dry surface.https://www.sbmar.com/product/wolverine-oil-pan-heater-model-25/Ā

Yea after thinking about it I figure that the oil is spread out in the pan so anywhere on the bottom I guess would work. I am not sure about the paint portion it would be nice since it’s going to be quite the task to get that cleaned up to bare metal. If it could be wiped with acetone and then lightly scuffed up that would be ideal.Ā

    Just to start the convo.

I’m in the, it doesn’t matter camp.

My question is do you really need to remove the paint to put on bare metal?
