Turbo oil darin elbow leak

Brought a replacement turbo oil drain elbow last year to replace a leaking pitted one.  Came with two gaskets. Mechanic used just one on the re install and said second was just an extra.  Well it was then leaking from the fitting face and the turbo. Pulled fitting and replaced gasket once again and it still leaks same area of the marriage between the fitting face and the turbo.  Should we have used both gaskets?
