hello, trying to figure out exactly what is needed for electronics to start a qsb on the shop floor? I do have a spare smart craft display along with a mercury dts throttle heads kicking around. I guess starting back at square one i picked up a low hour 380hp qsb for a spare, but when it came in there is a tag on the motor saying bad ecu, so just trying to evaluate what i have here. i also have a good ecu from a parts motor i can swap over if there is actually an electronics issue.

    QSBs

    Hi Chris,

I have two QSB 5.9 380s (circa 2004) on my boat with smart craft. I’d be glad to send pics or show you the install, if that would help. I also have the wiring diagrams. The boat is on stands in Yarmouth.

This is a tough one… if you want me to help you need to send me some pictures as to what exactly youre starting with re: the displays, harnessing, etc. Thats the only way you’ll tell if you have a bad ECM or not…
