Smartcraft Connect any good?

I saw on a forum that Mercury came out with a “SmartCraft Connect” module that allows you to see your engine data on a Garmin MFD.  Applies to QSB and newer motors.  Does anyone have experience with this module?   Apparently you can plug it into your smartcraft system under the helm and run a NMEA cable to your MFD.     I’m looking for a simple way to show engine info on my Garmin MFD.  Is there an SMX module that does this or is Smartcraft Connect the way to go?

Search the forum.  Use the term  “NMEA Gateway”  plenty of folks on the forum have done this
