Having a low oil pressure warning at operating temperature. Found broken spring on bypass valve in the cooler. Performed the recommended replacemen valve without the spring (fixed position). Also replaced the pressure requlator. Same problem then replaced the cooler housing and ultasonic cleaned the cooler core. Replaced remote hoses, bypassed oil filter head, removed and replaced the oil pump. Several Oil samples have been taken during the ongoing repairs. The oil pan clearance is an issue without lifting the engine so that’s my next plan of action, pick up tube fracture? Main bearings (no wear metals noted in the oil). Also inspected the overhead and installed mechanical gauges that read the same as the electronics. Any other suggestions would be welcomed.Ā

    Thanks, DaveĀ

    David,

Please take good pics to document what you find.

Yes the mechanical matches the display and when Insite connected. We double checked the oil pump to block mating surface yesterday and dropped the pan and removed the sump pipe. It appears that some metal flakes are in the pan most likely bearing material but the oil samples that were taken came back clean. We need to lift the engine in order to gain access to the mains for further inspection. I let you know what we find. Thanks for your reply.

Using an accurate 0-100 PSI liquid filled mechanical gauge to confirm readings?
