There is problem with the 6.7 Diesel lift pump used in trucks. It appears the “CP4” pump used in the Dodge trucks 6.7 is failing, and can cause metal to enter the fuel system.

On another boat forum, people are equating the same problem for the marine 6.7 and calling out the CP4 pump on the engine.

The Cummins marine website notes my fuel lift pump is: 5260632.

The local dealer in my area has reported no unusual fuel pump lift failures in the marine 6.7 and they handle alot of them.

    A few questions:

    1. Is this fuel pump issue related to the 6.7 truck engine, and not the marine 6.7?

    2. Is it a different fuel pump on the marine engine?

    3. Anything else related to this subject is appreciated.

    Code FC 2311

Any thoughts on why I get this code occasionally? My lift pump cycles the way it should ?

QSB 6.7 fuel supply issues ??

#1————-Are we talking the Common rail injection pump (CP4) or ? are we talking the electric lift pump on the Cummins 6.7 that may supply initial fuel to the entire  fuel circuit before you try and start the engine..

Let’s get that straight first as one has absolutely  ZERO to do with the other

Not sure all this “gobbly-gook” is coming from  (I’d like to know)  as I have well over 50 of these engines under my belt ( from 2014) with a few that have 4 + digits on their hour meter.
