Popping / backfire sound on QSB 5.9 startup

Hi all. Another issue as I get organized for a visit to a mechanic. My 2006 5.9 with 2600 hours has started to intermittently make a single popping sound similar to a muted backfire on start up. It seems to be more likely if the engine has not been run for 2 or 3 days. We are looping and generally move each day.

Any thoughts on the cause or repair?
