What’s the mean time between failure in hours for a QSM Sherwood pump?

I am at 2000 hrs in the engine and feeling like it’s time to proactively either rebuild or replace the pump this winter, then rebuild the old one as a spare.

Overly cautious or am I being smart to get in front of a future problem.

    Will do, watch and wait…

I have the impeller changed as “normal” winter maintenance. Will have a look then and most likely give it another year, especially as I’m doing the manifold $$$ and coolers $$$$ on the other side..l.

Both the QSM & QSC seawater pumps are built with decent engineering genes—– Way different than any of their other seawater pumps..

Both hold up very well.. Someplace between 4000 & 10,000 hours ?? The water seal may or may or last that long….The plastic cams ??? ….Why not take it off, remove the impeller and spin it? Get are feel for the bearings..
