Servicing the heat exchanger on one of my QSC 540 motors I discovered the water deflector at the end of the core has some holes eaten in it.  The slots on the end cap sit over the damage so it seems like over kill to replace it.

I’m not sure what action to take?  Repair it with JB weld, lead solider, silver solider or just leave it along?

Thanks for the advice Tony.  I thought you had pretty much seen it all.  The boat was a bank short sale so I anticipated issues like this.  A guy loosing his boat most likely is not very religious changing zincs.

Look at the pics I attached..

Use lots of Metalube.. Coat you fin w/ something like 3M 5200..  Not super critical to seal the fin into the groove 100%  as all it does is direct the water flow.. But since I have not seen this before, I’d be extra diligent  about your zincs, consider fresh water flushing, and pressure test your core

I was just going to smear on some metalube and assemble but woke up in the middle of the night thinking about this.
