    Looking for an externally regulated 160 amp alternator for a 6cta 8.3 cummins 450 CPL 2172. I’m having trouble finding something that that the fan clears the belt tensioner. If the alternator you sell for the 450 can be modified for external regulation, then that would be great.

    Not sure why you are having fan clearance issues, but any factory Delco 21-22SI will not have those issues unless you have something other than “factory bracketing” and or tensioning components..

    Something not stock on the engine?

    Most any alternator shop can convert the alternator to external sensing if this your wish..
