Following up on my search for a resolution of my coolant problem I have determined that it appears very hot gasses continuously flow out from the exhaust manifold cap at the front end of the manifold through the “Coolant vent to Expansion Tank” line. This gas pressures coolant out of the expansion tank until it falls below the level of the vent at the radiator cap. The coolant recovery tank handles the hot coolant but once the pressure and heat builds high enough the recovery tank fails (becomes soft and bursts). I have a short video that shows the gasses escaping around the end fittings on the vent line after the coolant has been pushed out (unfortunately I have not been able to find instruction on how to add a picture or MOV file) . I also note a discoloration in the paint from the manifold cap forward to the end of the manifold (overheating?). Am I correct in concluding that hot exhaust gasses are passing past the End Cap gasket and into the coolant ports and thereby pushing out the coolant? Once the initial mess is made and the recovery tank has blown out the engine continues to run smoothly at a little under 190 degrees under load.
