Posting in case helps anyone

#1 – This impeller IS NOT from SBMAR.

I did replace both impellers after this with SBMAR ones though. The other day noticed engine running hotter than normal (I saw it at 185), so throttled back and temp came down.

Did other checks, etc. but at 2050, ran 185 at 1,950 ran normal 172+-. Ran rest of day at lower RPM but eyeing temp. Then on way into port increased RPM, 2,100, 2,200, etc. and watched temp keep climbing quickly so throttled back immediately.

Unsure what it was, decided to go over raw water side, which I’ll doc in various threads today/tomorrow (Thermostat & HX).

Went to pull impeller and hub (or whatever it is called) came out, impeller didn’t. Slipping caused the flow issue (IMO).

Also, just a couple pics of how I put mine in (along with some dishwashing soap, pretty easy).

Went on to do thermostat and HX just to be sure rest ok.

Ordered HX gaskets, thermostat and lube from SBMAR to do other items.

Will show HX and thermostat in other threads.

    Thanks,

    J

    Hi Tony,

    Love the site.

Engine age in years since new is ? – 17

    Salt water boat? Yes

    Total Engine hours? 1,100

Last time the aftercooler was on then bench and in pieces so your could do a proper service? Bought new ones a couple years ago. Will take apart end of season next year or over this winter.

Your not the first person I know of to spin one of the Sherwood impellers! Thanks for the post.
