Finally got around to doing my HX and thought I’d doc in case helps anyone.

    It’s all pretty easy overall.

Close seacock, drain coolant, remove the 2 zincs, remove alternator & bracket (Easy), remove three bolts each end cap, loosen raw water pipe on the afterooler (Raw Water will pour out) that feeds the HX, remove the hose barb that the 1″ hose in front goes into in front of front cap, then you can slide core out for cleaning, etc.

I think one of the wires going to the alternator is live so disconnect batteries.

The hex bolt looking thing I circled does/may get in the way of taking the front cover off a bit but work at it a tad and the front cover will come off.

Don’t tap on the horizontal copper piece to assist the core coming out or you’ll bend it and have to bend it back.

Only a bit over 8 gallons drained out for me.  Eventually put about 8 back in and all good.
