    Tony and crew ,
First just wanted to say thank you for all your information and guidance . Just purchased a 38 foot silverton with 6bta 370hp w/ 1900 hrs on them . I’m new to diesels and living on your web sight to learn as much as I can . My issue recently is I noticed a film of oil on the bottom of my oil pan and after I put down a few 3m sheets under each engine the starboard side recently had what looks like and oil leak . After buying the boat I changed the oil filter a d fuel filters using all Tony’s recommended filters . I put about 40 hours on each . I know you all ask for pics but I can’t get s clear shot of it . Any idea why this is all of sudden happening? Doesn’t look like the gasket and the dip stick is right at high no more and no less . Both run great , temp ,oil pressure . Is the below pic a drain plus this was the best shot I could get . This area and towards the front of the engine so signs of leakage . Again 3m mats black in both areas ! Thank you gentlemen for your input !

I agree with Phil that the best approach at these nuisance leaks is to clean everything spic & span and then WWM.

What do you have for CCV?

How may quarts of oil are you running in the pan?

Does it have an Airsep with a drain back to the pan that could be weeping?

Have you checked the combo block? They usually have fuel leaks, not oil, but worth a look.

General engine pics from multiple angles and perspectives are always helpful.

    Welcome to the forum…

My eye doesn’t really see any oil or potential oil leak in your photo, maybe others will see something.

If your not loosing any oil on the dip stick, I would clean both the bilges and the engine spotless and wait, watch, and monitor. Let’s see if we can identify where any leaks might be coming from or if it’s just residual oil being soaked up.

    Phil
