I’ve got a big in-line wet muffler, about 12” diameter and easily 36” long, 5” in and out. My take on it is that it’s so roomy inside that it does little to reduce sound level.
I’m wondering about the feasibility of converting it to a lift muffler in hopes of making the exhaust quieter, adding a starboard side exhaust for North Sea style outlets. <br />What I don’t know is if there are certain specifications that I need to follow in building it, such as how far off the bottom the outlet pipe should be? Should the exhaust inlet be angled to create swirl ? Is the muffler even big enough to do this?
Single 6BT with 5” exhaust, Seafirst pump, moves a lot of water.
Thanks!
