    Timing Case bolts

I finally found a picture showing what I am trying to explain.. These bolts must be re-installed after the belt guard is removed.Ā  Be sure they do not “bottom out”–Use a couple/three washers if needed.Ā  About 15-2o ft lbs

Many thanks Tony as I guess putting all the bolts back in if the cover is left off for calibrating a new tacho should suffice ?? until the cover is permanently put back and secured.

If this is what you are talking about————The bracketing at the lower end of the belt guard must we put back in place (if removed) as they help hold the main aluminum timing cover in place.

I really appreciate your expert knowledge. I now know what to look for as I thought there must be a bolt some where at the top. I will bend over with a mirror and find it Ā

    These guards, right?

There is a top bracket/bolt under the expansion tank

I guess what I neglected to ask ā€œ is there only the the two right angle brackets on the base that hold Ā hold the belt cover on? So to remove the cover withdraw the two bolts and move the cover forward. Is there anything that fastens the top of the cover? On my boat itā€™s close to the bulkhead so itā€™s difficult to see the top of the cover close to the engine. What does it weigh?

    many thanks Ā

    Trevor Ā

What about removal of the belt cover?
