My friend has a 23ft trailer boat with volvo D4 sterndrive; hydraulic steering.

Do you have any auto pilot components/ system that might be applicable to his boat.

He is looking for simple. Doesn’t need to connect to a MFD.

Mainly set point A to B with a few waypoints.

    Mahalo,

Waypoints are stored in the MFD. some of the earliest units let you type in Lat/Lon or LORAN numbers but haven’t seen one of those in years.
nothing simpler than picking your waypoint from a list in the MFD and hitting Go There.

I have Garmin MFD’s and Raymarine autopilot and they work great and simply. Seldom if ever anymore use waypoints. But I have a bunch in the list from the old days. Everything is done with Routes ( two or more waypoints that are associated). I think I have a few hundred for South Florida and the Bahamas.
simply say where do I want to go and pick the Route. Easy Peesy.

Garmin sells a complete system. not crazy expensive if you already have a Garmin display. Looking at it myself.
