What might cause the fuel solenoid to just let go while underway?

Engine would restart immediately with no problems, run for a minutes up to 10 minutes then die again. Seemed like lower speeds or in Neutral would go for longer intervals before it would die. Ran great on Friday night when we headed out for the weekend.

I finally just zip tied it to get back home but the wife and kids were less than thrilled with the outing.

Admittedly I haven’t done a lot of tracing of wires/connections yet. We did have an incident earlier this year where we did get a bit of water into the engine room (about to the pan gasket height) so some of the electrical bits on the RH side of the engine did probably get a saltwater bath as water splashed off the side of the stringers.

Boat is out of the water for probably the season so troubleshooting is probably going to be need to be mostly done with a multi-meter and visual confirmation of clean connections.

90%+ this is your issue.. Bottom wire connections loose or corroded or both..
