During a fishing tournament this weekend I developed a fuel leak.  The hose from the lift pump to the fuel filter was leaking.  It had a 1/4 inch spilt about 2 inch away from the lift pump.  I made a temporary repair to get back in.  I had about 25 gallons of diesel in the bilge by the time I finally got in.  The hose was Trident A1-15 1/2 inch. I am just wondering if there is anything I should be on the lookout for or just change the hose and continue on. Thanks in advance.   Ron

    Thanks Clark,

The hose was about 12 years old. No bend at the location.  I just changed it out.

Appears the type of hose was OK.

How old was the hose?  They do age out.

Was there a bend in the hose where the split happened.    All of these hoses have a minimum bend radius and if ignore that will shorten the hose life substantially.

I try not to even approach a sharp bend.   I will instead use steel hydraulic fittings such as 90 or 45  degree fittings to take out as much bend as I can.
