Can I find out the size of the barb on the coolant overflow reservoir bottle. I think it is for 6mm hose size, that is 1/4 inch hose. one can fit 5/16 inch hose  ( 8mm) firmly but it has a wafer leak. The header tank size is larger so a different size is needed on each end. Any suggestions. Thanks

    Coolant overflow bottle hose

    Hi Rob,

I fitted silicon hose and got a good seal exactly as you said I would however after a run there was still a wet water leak on he bottle base. So I figured it was time to order a new bottle. I have heard they can split open on the seems. I ordered one from seaboard and fitted it. No leaks Now. Old bottle tested in garage at home and you can see where the leak is. See attached photo. It has opened up on the seem but as bottle cooled down it stopped leaking. Tricky one this so only fix is a new bottle. Tks for your assistance.

You should be able to source on eBay or Amazon if not available locally. Keep us posted…

    G’Day Rob

Many thanks Champ I will give that a go as I don’t want to join two different hose sizes together

I cant stand any form of leaks anywhere including a wafer leak.

5 seasons back I removed, cleaned, relocated and replumbed my bottles.   5/16″ Silicon heater hose fits perfectly on the header tank and the softness of the silicon hose allows it to be hose clamped at the fitting under the recovery bottle.  I didn’t take a pic of the hose clamp connection but I just found it in the background of a pic of something else and cropped it out.  Worked great and 5 seasons later never a drip.
