It appears the only thing I can check is the 10 amp fuse that goes to the ECM. Would this red button be that fuse?
No, that’s the circuit breaker for the engine harness back to the helm. Plenty here on that: https://www.sbmar.com/community/search/engine+mounted+circuit+breaker/?gdpos=power-search-request&gdpos_search_users_input=rob
See attached pic – air heater control fuse should be in here

“….was surprised at how it takes out the whole harness and effects many things”
Yup, if it goes or connections come loose it’s just like turning of the key switch!

Yes, the filter head is a good location. To be thorough, did you secure the gauge in place and monitor the pressure at different rpms once the engine comes up to full temp?
No, the circuit board will NOT effect your instrument readings. It is for alarm/buzzer only.
Sounds like losing some voltage from the engine to the helm. Of course bad grounds can do this but another culprit is this 10amp engine mounted circuit breaker. Check it out including the ring terminals underneath it.

“Cranks are only monitored via the standard cummins gauge (which I think may be a bit dodgy on the port side as it reads very low)”
12V at the helm is fed by the engine mounted 10amp circuit breaker. If you’re engine package voltmeter is doing as you say check the connections under the breaker. Here’s a prior thread about it.

Check the red push button 10amp CB. Next to the aftercooler at the rear lifting ring.
I would post a pic or link but I’m on a dumb phone at the moment. You can search for it as we have had a few posts here already, pics included.

In the Preheater post this heater diagram was uploaded by Tony.Ā I boxed in red what is listed as a “fuse”.Ā Tony or anyone, please correct me if I am wrong but that “fuse” is actually the engine mounted 10amp circuit breaker that I show in the attached picture.Ā For anyone not familiar with this breaker, if the connections to the base of it come loose you will shutdown, no different than shutting of the key switch.Ā Checking the two connections under this breaker should be part of your routine maintenance plan.
