June 22, 2018 at 9:55 pm Replaced single diesel view with double smx J1939 , removed sims and connected two key switches and 2 harnesses on engine , but both lift pumps start up on both engines when either starboard or port key is turned to first position , Thinking they should be separate since no connection between engines , maybe somebody can help me understand how they are still connected together. Thanks

June 20, 2018 at 4:40 pm The symptom you describe would typically be related to the internal voltage regulator failing, inside the alternator. Simple to exchange alternators of take it off and have it repaired. Or do both, then you have a spare. But do follow Phil’s lead regardless.. Very important. Tony

May 9, 2018 at 10:35 am Jeff, normal is different on each boat due to restrictions “built in” to the fuel system as in hose sizes, fitting sizes, fitting types, fitting count, dip-tube specs, etc. A new filter will give you a baseline. Could be zero, could be 2 or 3″hg. As to your recent incident – After your initial fuel starve a check of the gauge would have showed the drag pointer WAY up out of range… This YT clip should help vis…
