Assuming your transmission has a oil cooler……
Below are from “Tony’s Tip” in this web site.:

Also, your cooler MAY have zincs installed

From searching THIS forum, lots of info, here several hits from a forum search:

And again, the manual will have service info.

    Hope this helps

    Thx buddy,
these are twin disk model MG 5050A, rec use. I like to put about 120 or so hours a year. any idea where I can find info on how to flush? I am no mechanic but not afraid of labor and getting dirty, just trying to learn more.
    thx again

    Lewis,
    Welcome.

    More info needed:
    Type/model of transmission
Hours used per month or year
Conditions used (commercial 24 hours hard work or casual)
    Salt water or fresh

General answer with the above unknown:
Assuming: Recreational use, 100 hours per year

    1. Get the manual for your trans, answers will be in the manual
    2. Change the oil yearly
    3. if in salt water, with no fresh water flush, clean the sea water side of your oil cooler.
    4. Inspect/Clean or change oil filter and or strainer if equipped.

    Hope this helps
