General Information

Perform maintenance at whichever interval occurs first. At each scheduled maintenance interval, perform all previous checks that are due for scheduled maintenance.

Maintenance Procedures at Daily Interval

  • Coolant Level – Check
  • Fuel-Water Separator – Drain
  • Lubricating Oil Level – Check
  • Marine Gear – Check1
  • Sea Water Strainer – Clean
  • Crankcase Breather Tube – Check
  • Drive Belts – Check

Maintenance Procedures at 75 Hours or 3 Months

  • Air Cleaner Restriction – Check
  • Battery – Check
  • Component Connector and Pin – Inspect
  • Engine Hoses – Check
  • Sea Water Hoses – Check
  • Zinc Anode – Inspect3

Maintenance Procedures at 300 Hours or 1 Year

  • Aftercooler – Flush
  • Air Cleaner Element – Change
  • Air Intake Piping – Inspect
  • Coolant Filter – Change
  • Engine Coolant Heater – Check
  • Engine Harness – Check
  • Fuel Filter (Spin-On Type) – Change
  • Fuel Water Separator Element – Replace
  • Lubricating Oil and Filters – Change2
  • Marine Gear Oil – Check1
  • Marine Gear Oil Cooler – Flush1
  • Radiator Pressure Cap – Check
  • Sea Water Heat Exchanger – Flush
  • Sea Water Pump – Inspect
  • Supplemental Coolant Additive (SCA) – and Antifreeze – Check2

Maintenance Procedures at 600 Hours or 2 Years

  • Cooling Fan Belt Tensioner – Check
  • Cooling System – Flush4
  • Overhead Set – Adjust
  • Vibration Damper, Rubber – Inspect for Reuse
  • Vibration Damper, Viscous – Inspect for Reuse
  1. Consult the marine gear manufacturer operator’s manual for specifications and recommendations.
  2. Depending upon the quality of electrical bonding and water conditions, increased maintenance is sometimes necessary.
  3. This cooling system requirement to Flush at this scheduled maintenance includes Drain, Flush, and Fill.
