Smart Craft VesselView 1.5 Eng Hr Problem

My Cummins is tethered to a Smart Craft VesselView 1.5 display unit.  I’ve recently noticed the engine hours displayed on this unit does not accurately log when the engine is running – it sometimes doesn’t increment properly and sometimes it has even backed up several hours.  I believe this is related to using the remote start button at my upper helm but this is just a guess.  Any one know how to determine actual engine hours and perhaps correct the display on my SmartView?

Welcome to Mercury Smart Crap.. Your true engine hours are accurately recorded on your engines ECM, and can be read it using INSITE or bypassing The Mercury crap  and reading the base SAE J1939 electronics your ECM broadcasts.   Ton’s on this web site that can help.
