January 19, 2025 at 9:50 am Looking to upgrade the power in my JN36 from Cat 3208N (210HP). From a 1st look the QSB5.9 would fit very nicely from a dimensional perspective. I am thinking of HP in the 350 range, I know a sister boat with a bit less weight is doing nicely with 330 HP. Any insight, thoughts, advice on this project would be very helpful. Thanks Mike

January 12, 2025 at 1:30 pm 6BT 210 hp running well at 9800 hrs.  Recently, seeing gray smoke when the engine is warm.  When I get close to the exhaust, can smell diesel.   Injectors have never been tested or replaced.  Are there other possible causes for the gray smoke which should be checked before pulling the injectors?

November 11, 2024 at 9:04 am Hello all, I am trying to pin down a recent problem with my 2003 Meridian 411. I’ve got twin 370 hp 6BTA’s and while trying to move the boat to prepare for Hurricane Milton I discovered that she would not plane out and had a noticeable lack of power. Only the first 1/4 of the throttle is responsive and after that, nothing really happens.  You can rev the engines at the dock in neutral. Earlier this year I ran the boat over 600 miles …

This how you must start to get an answer.   1—-Use a strobe to check your tach for accuracy at the dock in neutral , engine warm at 2800 RPM — Write down REAL (strobe) vs,  what the tach says–Be very accurate..   2- When was the last time you went to 100% WOT loaded as you use the boat and what  RPM could you reach on your tach??       Seaboard Founder & President

February 2, 2025 at 12:29 am I have 2003 6CTA480CE and would like to add the SMX Engine Coolant Temperature Alarm panel (twin model). October 8, 2024 at 2:23 pm I have searched these forums already but still need to ask a basic question. Boat is located on the Ches Bay (brackish). Twin QSB6.7 units. Zeus Drives (aluminum trim tab and transom anodes). I fresh water flush after every run so the seawater system is sitting in fresh water the majority of the time.
