From Original Design to Seaboard Design & HOW WE DO IT!
I have no idea what “someone” was thinking. The turbo was just a tad above the water LWL when the boat was loaded and yet they left all the engine room height “unused”. Just common sense would tell you that the muffler could easily flood up to the engine’s turbo before the water went out the stern. Complete idiots and must have never understood the word GRAVITY.
The “Tony” solution below: The owner supplied good pictures and very accurate measurements and we just “mocked it up” in the shop — The boat was 2500 miles away, but all “fit 100% perfect”…
Shop Mock-Ups: Just lay it on the floor using all of the accurately supplied vessel measurements, a good ruler, a proven design, a lot of past experience, some common sense in your head, & +/- 1/16” is all you need!
Without being on the boat (which usually is basically impossible for us), the pics below show how it’s done…
Finished & Installed System Below:
Finished product—100% inherently safe as the water will flow out the back of the boat before it reaches the “spill over point” of the riser. “The only way”
