Tony; Just purchased 2 used twin disc 502’s 2:1 trannies. After scrapping off the name plate found that this one was a LH 502. Will this have any effect on my 5.9 standard cummins diesels. The other tranny has no name pate so i dont know if it is a LH OR RH unit. Does it even matter. Can I have the other unit spin tested to find out if it is LH OR RH.

Not cost effectively, and NO…Understand these gears have been obsolete for over 40 years now……………. What is the gear ratio?
I may have what you need in my warehouse.. Drop me a note off line.

Can that twin disc 502 LH be changed to a 502 RH. and if not, can you just reverse the shift direction.
    Thanks..

    Twin disc 502 rotation

Can that LH 502 be changed to a RH 502 if need be, or can it be run as is by reversing the linkage.

    Thanks..

Early 502’s are input direction sensitive.. Only one of the gears will work. Your engine rotates CCW when looking at the flywheel, meaning the gear inputs haft must rotate CW.
