Turbo going on a 450C is unpainted at this point.  I’m thinking the exhaust side I will paint (so it doesn’t rust), but the air side housing is aluminum (and gets real hot)–which means it won’t rust and also means will be difficult to get paint to stick to.

Anyone have an opinion on this?  Any reason to paint the aluminum intake side?

I painted both of my turbos with Rustoleum 2X, primer and then gloss white. Looks new a couple of years on.

The standard Rustoleum enamel.  Sprayed before install and then brush painted once installed.

Nice…actually looks pretty slick, definitely the way I’m going.

I did just that and left the aluminum air side unpainted.  That was 7 seasons ago.  Still look perfect.
