I wanted to get some thoughts on this.

I am replacing the exhaust manifold on one of my 4bt’s. Yesterday, I was cleaning the gasket surfaces on this project. The exhaust out side of the turbo where the mixer attaches is not in the best of shape. I attempted to surface it with a belt sander to get it back to a clean surface. I am super anal about gasketed surfaces being perfect. I was considering putting this on a milling machine, and taking it down a couple thousands. Am I being to anal? Is there a potential of changing anything performance wise for the worst if I do this? I am using the graphite gaskets that SBMAR sells. Maybe these gaskets will seal just fine?

    No risk, No reward

I went ahead and milled it down. Hopefully no issues with this.
