Have a recon 6bta 370 2yrs old.  Removed aftercoolers for cleaning and found sludge on compressor outlet going to cooler.  Blades are in tact and there is no apparent play in the shaft.  Also, air intake side is clean and no oil is present.  Exhaust side is black but not full of sludge. Turbo is with a mechanic at the moment to be opened up and he is concerned that there may be another issue with it based on the amount of oil coming out.  Air filters were cleaned about 10 hrs ago.  Any ideas?

Port & Starboard installs are not the same, especially the exhaust setup which is what Tony emphasized as to the request for photos.  You don’t have any engine room photos?  Where’s the love?

    Thank you

Thank you, I will get photos of the other engine as it has the same setup.  Meanwhile, motors have 500 hrs on them.  We cruise 2550 rpm’s 24 knots. Wot is 3070 rpm’s @ 30kt.

Post 5-10 good pictures showing the entire engine installation from all angles and all perspectives —No close-ups.. Be sure I  “see”  the exhaust system as it attached to the turbo

How many hours in the 2 yrs?  Typical Cruise RPM/vessel speed  when making trips going from Point A to Point B ?     WOT  RPM & vessel speed?

     Start with that..
