Smart Craft question

Hello,
I’m looking at a boat with Cummins 480CE’s and Smart Craft system. Seller’s broker said the Smart Craft display has been replaced in the last year or so. Since I’m not familiar with them. My question : is the new display going to show the correct engines hours and other information? Can a Cummins tech connect his diagnostic equipment to the engines to read the data that way?

The only thing a tech can do is, if he hooks up the the engine, is read what is “indelible” in the ECM–Engine hours is one of them……………As to really what matters, it has nothing to do with the engines hours.. It’s all to do with the term “Marine Age”.. ……………………………………

99%++, tech would not even no the term as it is not used in the school class curriculum ( yet)……
