Previous owner was extremely negligent on maintenance. I have stripped the 6BTAs down to the block for rust removal, prime, paint. All new aftercoolers, cores and turbos as well.

The ZF 220A on the port side took the brunt of an obvious seawater leak from the packing gland.

I will send actual photos of my gear when I get back to the boat. However, everything in this picture of a new gear that is red/maroon is a corroded, rusted mess.

Is it possible to purchase just these red/maroon covers as a replacement?

All the aluminum on the gear is in decent shape. All the external steel is trashed.

    Any help?

Post some good pics of what you have.. Buying those parts NEW would not be cost effective.

Can’t answer about the red/maroon covers.

I can suggest to stop seawater spray from travelling and causing damage to use an old fender and cut it up so it fits over the stuffing box.
The eye gets cut off to make a hole in the fender end big enough to not contact the spinning shaft.
THe fender is cut to make a piece long enough to cover about 1″ past the stuffing box and allow this piece to be clamped to the stuffing box.
Then split the piece longitudinally and arrange the split DOWN and slightly open.

The spray will be caught inside the fender piece and drip into the bilge.

It take me about 10 seconds to remove it when I need to make an adjustment. The nut driver for this job is hung nearby as a specific tool so I don’t have to go searching.

No more spray travel to mess up the steel parts.
