I’m the proud and broke owner of a slightly over propped sea ray with Qsm 11’s. After replacing burnt out manifold gaskets twice in 5 years, I’ve cut 1.5 inches of pitch out of the props and I’m at 19-20 gph at 1900 rpm’s. Probably will have to take a bit more pitch out.

I just installed Seaboards Pyro gauges so I can monitor EGT. My question is, what temp’s do I need to avoid??? Basically, what is too hot and what do I need to stay under??

    Here ya go

Need advice on changing Props to protect QSM11s

Scroll to the bottom of the thread and read Larry Backman’s numbers. He did the same thing you did. Added the SMX Pyro to keep an eye on things. He gives good numbers and advice on how he runs. And yes you are going to need to take another inch or more out to get your fuel burn down below the magic number.
